Dear users,
On November 28th we were invited to the Educatec – Educatice forum in Paris, where we had the huge opportunity to introduce our newest product Qwant Junior to the french Minister of Education Najat Vallaud – Belkacem .
What is Qwant Junior ?
It is the first search engine fully dedicated to kids from 3 to 12 years old. According to the Minister :
« Qwant Junior will be tested out in a few selected schools from January 2015. We aim to raise awareness of best web practices among pupils. »
As for Qwant, we developed a secured search engine that gives access to culture by integrating websites recommended by the French Government :

Thanks to the Toulouse University we have established a blacklist of incongrous websites (violence, pornography…) and we integrated a whitelist ( institutional websites, certified video channels…). We have removed any kind of ads, displays and shopping features. Children will only get access to filtered web results.
Qwant Junior is for now a Beta version and will be introduced to journalists and media during the coming year.
We are very proud to develop (voluntarily) such project. Education is facing a new challenge, the digital wave and we are willing to help .
